Supporting Sanyo Chemical’s New Sustainable Product Go-To-Market Strategy

The Client

Sanyo Chemical America Incorporated is the North America based subsidiary of Sanyo Chemical Industries, a leading Japanese chemical company. With a robust portfolio of over 3,000 chemical compounds and hundreds of patents worldwide, Sanyo Chemical America is at the forefront of chemical innovation.

The Challenge

Sanyo Chemical has developed groundbreaking soil amendments that is a more sustainable material. Eager to bring these innovations to the agriculture market, Sanyo Chemical sought Xploration Partners' expertise to devise an effective go-to-market strategy. Specifically, they aimed to identify their first target customers and partnerships.

The Solution

Xploration Partners delved into comprehensive market research to craft actionable recommendations for Sanyo Chemical's go-to-market strategy. Following meticulous analysis, Sanyo Chemical selected a shortlist of four categories of potential partners. Leveraging our extensive network, Xploration Partners identified 21 companies directly relevant to these categories. We reached out to a shortlist of companies, selected by Sanyo Chemical, with the objective to gain insights, forge partnerships, and bolster Sanyo Chemical's market entry strategy.

The Outcome

Among the four targeted categories, Sanyo Chemical expressed a keen interest in engaging with innovation centers in California. Consequently, we facilitated an introduction to T H E V I N E, a prominent California-based innovation network specializing in agriculture, food, and biotechnology. Located in Davis, California, The Vine operates statewide and collaborates with nine research centers. Their ecosystem encompasses startups, corporates, investors, academic institutions, and global partners.

Through our facilitation, Sanyo Chemical and The Vine connected for an introductory meeting. This initial interaction laid the groundwork for a potential collaboration, opening avenues for Sanyo Chemical to tap into California's vibrant innovation landscape and expedite their market penetration efforts.

Xploration Partners didn’t just offer solutions; they ignited fresh perspectives within our team, opening doors to innovative strategies we hadn’t considered before.
