Lufthansa saves time & money by adopting smart asset management technology

The Client

Lufthansa is the largest German airline and the largest airline in Europe by passenger capacity and fleet size.

The Objective

Lufthansa was interested in digitizing its ground support equipment (GSE) to boost long-term competitiveness.

The Solution

Leveraging our startup network and expertise, our team identified a number of relevant startups that met Lufthansa’s objectives. Using our proven framework of scouting, vetting, and validating startups, Lufthanse ultimately selected to partner with the startup Undagrid, a smart asset management startup.

The Outcome

The two companies developed an IoT strategic partnership that provides Lufthansa with real-time insights into its assets, allowing it to better predict, localize, and allocate equipment. This technology saves time and money as well as speeds up the information exchange within Lufthansa. Given the demonstrable results, Lufthansa is looking to expand the use of this technology in the aviation industry across the globe.
