Schneider Electric launches a first-of-its-kind pilot to make connected homes an asset for grid operators

The Client

Schneider Electric is a French multinational company that specializes in digital automation and energy management. It addresses homes, buildings, data centers, infrastructure and industries, by combining energy technologies, real-time automation, software, and services.

The Objective

Schneider Electric is focused on expanding its technology, product, and service roadmap to meet changing customer requirements with innovative solutions.

The Solution

Our team mapped out the landscape of technologies in the connected energy and IoT space that could augment Schneider Electric’s existing portfolio. We identified Ohmconnect, a startup that has developed an innovative demand response program that allows consumers to save energy during times of peak use, and earn money.

The Outcome

The two companies have partnered to make connected homes an asset for grid operators. The pilot allows customers of California’s big three utilities to apply for a full suite of Schneider Electric’s home-energy management devices at a reduced cost. This is a first-of-its-kind pilot that is set to make a significant impact for residences, businesses, the environment, and the energy industry.
