SingTel becomes the top sport app by enhancing sports-fan customers viewing experience

The Client

Singapore Telecommunications, commonly known as Singtel, is a Singaporean telecommunications conglomerate, the country's principal fixed-line operator and one of the four major mobile network operators operating in the country.

The Objective

Singtel wanted to offer its sports-fan customers enhanced viewing experiences through second-screen viewing on their mobile devices.

The Solution

Our team identified directly relevant startups for SingTel’s strategic goals. Through our guided process, SingTel selected and partnered with San Francisco-based social TV gamification platform Kwarter, which allows broadcasters, brands, and producers to create and monetize live audience participation on second screens.

The Outcome

In their partnership, Kwarter manages live-game participation and content for a SingTel stand-alone app, and SingTel connects existing customers on its mio TV digital pay television service to the Football Pro app. Within a week of its release, it was the top sports app on Android and iOS in Singapore, with tens of thousands of downloads.
